On Saturday night, at The Hollywood Palladium, men, women, and men dressed as women danced together.
Such is the power of The Scissor Sisters.
Their fierce command was further illustrated by the silence in the room when the lights went down—to a pitch, pitch black—in anticipation of The Sisters’ characteristically epic entrance. The Sisters—made up of Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Babydaddy, Del Marquis, and Randy Real—emerged on stage, bolting out of the gate with the fan favorite “Any Which Way,” and following with “Keep Your Shoes,” a standout track from their newest, and arguably best, album Magic Hour.

Fans were treated to a set featuring songs that spanned their four major studio albums like “Take Your Mama” and “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’." However, it was new tracks from Magic Hour (songs like “Only The Horses,” “Inevitable,” and “Let’s Have a Kiki”) that turned the dance floor into a rug-cutting frenzy.
The Scissor Sisters also bring the best in banter and choreography, making for a well-rounded experience. Shears thanked L.A. for giving him his first case of crabs, while incredibly synchronized dance routines culminated in Shears ripping his shirt off during “Invisible Light.”
