Many questions surround the elusive Ego Leonard. For instance, who is he, and where did he come from? Did he escape from the original Legoland Park in Denmark, or from closer shores, California or Florida? Is this how he got to be such a great swimmer? Being from places nearer water?
Ego Leonard; an 8 foot tall, globe-trotting giant of a fellow, knows how to make an entrance – opting to go for a more imaginative approach, he swims across the Atlantic and appears at his chosen destination pleasantly surprising local residence. Sporting the words, ‘No Real Than You Are’ across his chest and with his towering, statuesque physique and surreal demeanor, he has baffled and mystified many people across the globe.
After spending the day hanging out on the beach, surfing and chatting up the locals, he then proceeds to have a gallery show documenting his travels. For his latest visit we see his work exhibited at the LAB ART Gallery in Hollywood, which runs until August 5th.

Were you born / created at Legoland?
No, I can see why people might think this because of my appearance, but I am actually from another time and place – lets leave it at that.
You are a fairly tall gentleman, does that come from your mother's side or your father's side?
Neither, my mom had an affair with a roller coaster, that's where I get my fiberglass skin tone, it’s kinda a touchy subject for me, but every cloud has a silver lining…I’m great at basketball and bird-watching
Are you dating anyone right now?
I was seeing Storm for a while but it didn’t work out; lets just say she was pretty intense and her ability to manipulate weather storms didn’t sit well with my swimming schedules. We’re still friends though, we stay in touch via Facebook
Who are your heroes?
Sir Francis Drake, Christopher Columbus, and Neil Armstrong oh and I love Daft Punk, we hang out occasionally.
Is this your first time in California?
Yes. But it's great. I love to surf and catch some rays. A big Hollywood producer to star in a big blockbuster movie has also approached me, I can’t disclose too much at this time but it’s all very exciting. I believe Ryan Gosling would be my stunt double and the delectable Barbie would be the love interest..Yum!
How was it being arrested in Florida? (The handcuffs must have been huge)
It wasn't the best way to welcome my arrival; they wouldn't even give me a phone call. But on the positive side, I made a hip-hop track with some of the inmates; it will be available on iTunes next month, check it out, it’s called ‘Fear of a Brick World’
We can see from your art that you are well travelled, what have been some of your most memorable experiences?
Yes, all of my passport stamps come with a story; my art displays snapshots of some of my fondest times while visiting various countries. I have much to report home about.
