Is it just me, or is Lexus already luxury? Touting their new LS model line as “luxury” seems, well, superfluous, but we imagine that it just means they’re taking their luxury to the hilt.
To kick off the LS F Sport, Lexus held an exhibition of celebrated fashion and art photographer Ellen von Unwerth’s photos of prominent couples with the car, exploring the idea of “attraction” and what attracts us to things, like, uh, luxury cars. “It was a great shoot with the new Lexus LS and the amazing modern couples that were cast for the project,” said von Unwerth. “There was a tremendous energy between the car and the couples.”
Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan, Jason Schwartzman and Brandy Cunningham, Jaimie King and Kyle Newman, Devon Aoki and James Bailey all gathered around the car for von Unwerth, creating images with intimacy and chemistry.
In addition to Unwerth’s photography, the exhibition also displayed the work of photographers Victor Demarchelier, Bronques, an assortment of leading street style photographers from around the world. The opening featured the smooth sounds of DJ Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes, whose own honey Kristen Wiig popped behind the decks and made a few selects.
Also of note: this event marks the very first time that a luxury automaker has launched its vehicle to the world with a prominent gaymarried couple—Adler and Doonan—in their campaign.
