SMOOTH LINES: SPONGE LADI AVOKANTO AVOCADO OIL

Avocados have long been synonymous with summer. Once the temperatures rise and bikini season becomes more reality than a distant memory, the ripe "alligator pear" becomes a summertime staple. Rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, avocados are great for the waistline and heart, which is why they regularly adorn our salads and sandwiches! This summer, however, we turn to avocados for a less conventional, yet equally beneficial, reason - skincare.

Though a bronzed exterior may mask the damage, juggling coastlines and volatile seasons have rendered our skin dull and flaky, ultimately sparking our hunt for the perfect moisturizer. But with so many moisturizing options out there, we're faced with the difficult task of finding one that actually sticks. After testing and discarding countless "miracle" products, we decided to turn to nature's skincare remedy - avocados - and undoubtedly struck buttery gold.

This revelation shouldn't really come as a surprise though, since avocados provide countless skincare perks in addition to nutritional benefits. High in Vitamins A, E, D, and potassium, avocado oil can be considered an accessible fountain of youth. Once we came across the SPONGE Ladi Avokanto Avocado Oil facial serum, we knew we had found the one. These avocados aren't just your backyard variety either, hailing from Greece - specifically Volos, Kalamata, and Thiva - with the oil harvested by Markos Krotos of SPONGE Cosmetics himself, on his Crete family farm - a true home remedy.

Upon applying the serum, we could actually feel the Grecian magic at work. Our dehydrated, sun ravaged skin quickly absorbed the serum, softening our dull complexions and leaving us rejuvenated and replenished. A few daily applications later, others even began to notice, complimenting our new, youthful look.

So let the temperature creep into the 90s! Avocados look to remain a staple of all things summertime, both in the culinary world and as part of our skincare indulgences.
