Last issue, we ran a story on Istanbul's thriving culture scene, wherein one of the city's leading designers shared with us, "Design should be for everyone. If it's not, then it's art."  Designer Karolina Maszkiewicz might agree that design should be for everyone (her sizzling hot boutique, Weekend Lovers, or W-<3's, features a truly eclectic mix of young and emerging with big take luxury for any popper-by looking for a bit of lovin') but she also feels the same about art. Which is why she commisioned Belgian artist, Chase, whose work can be seen all over the world, to embody the spirit of a weekend romance aside her Miracle Mile shop at 351 South La Brea Avenue. Weekend Lovers X The Art of Chase Present: BEAUTIFY LA did exactly that last week, beautifying the city with a bit of imaginative paint, but also some stiff vodka cocktails and beats thumped out of a taco truck. We at Flaunt love when the DJ booth comes with a city health code rating; obviously an 'A' in this case.
