Hermès made vitamin D tangible this past week – sunny colors, rich leathers and playful micro-patterns were all present at the DWNTWNMEN event in Los Angeles, an extravagant party which showcased their new spring-summer 2017 men’s wear and accessory collection.
Véronique Nichanian, artistic director of the men’s universe at Hermès, and featuree of our new Girlfriend’s Issue, celebrated the night with an optimistic art-meets-sport soiree curated by Anthony Burrill. Each section of the party was an embodiment of slogans by Burrill that were inspired by Nichanian’s bright approach to masculinity.
The runway show was followed by a multisensory event including a labyrinth of light and mirrors, LPs adorned with scarves, a Voison motorcycle, and interactive installations that allowed guests to experience that tactility of knit, leather, and Toilovent in the playful and inviting ambiance.
Among fifteen-hundred attendees, some of Los Angeles’ most notable walked on and off the Hermès court including Dita Von Teese, LACMA director Michael Govan, artist Rodney McMillian, and singer James Blunt. The night rounded out its exhibits of play with a performance by the Cold War Kids and food by ANIMAL
